Slowly the hands crawl round and round
Audible ticking inside my head
Lines paced 'cross my floor
Over and over in figurative ruts
No solace to be sought or gained as
Growing discomfort turns 'round in my guts
Why is it time moves in seconds; so slow?
And you'd think, if I'm patient, it'd pass in a breeze
Impatience is my strongest vice and
Time is such a fucking tease.
